Vegetarian Sweets
We hope this section will help you if you are a vegetarian sweet lover or buying a gift for a vegetarian and want a quick guide to vegetarian sweets.
We'll be adding more useful dietary info to all the sweets listings over the coming months, we have now begun with a 'Vegetarian Sweets' category and will add all the sweets marked as suitable for vegetarians by the manufacturer to this part of the website as well as stating on each separate sweet page if it is suitable for vegetarians.
Elsewhere on the website you'll see we have also started to specifically indicate sweets which are not suitable for vegetarians as they contain gelatine and/or E120 (cochineal) and/or some other ingredient/factor which means they are not suitable.
Please note that carmine and carminic acid is not suitable for vegetarians however a different ingredient called 'indigo carmine' can be produced in a way that is suitable for vegetarians.
The ingredients lists are currently being added to each individual sweet page on the website.
